Description:
Edit 5/1/2024: Motor and gearbox installed into the car, need to bolt the motor mounts to the chassis. Looking for a set of SUs to put on the manifold. Solid frame, engine bay is original (no V8 motor cutouts). No accident damage. Floors are there, some flange edges receding, some small holes in the sheet metal. RH front rocker to inner fenders, rear outrigger/spring perch need to be repaired/replaced. No door sag, original aluminum hinges operate. Car rolls easily and steers effortlessly. This is a great starting point to either build up an original motor (or drop in a used one) or fit something with a little more go. A90 lower end included. Crank is in the block, rotates smoothly. Engine seems to have been rebuilt, then it sat and got some condensation rust in #1. Rod bearings show little wear, journals are smooth, cross hatching visible in all bores. Currently the bores are .030, some standard size pistons and rods are installed. Motor is incomplete, minus a good head. Cam installed w/ matched lifters, timing chain and gears, timing cover, tappet cover. Includes valve cover, repairable head w/ valves, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, new water pump. 3 speed transmission assembled but missing some internal parts. This car will need work and parts to be a runner again. You can't drive it home. It sat in a barn since 1971 (that's the sticker on the windscreen), and has since been moved to a cleaner barn.
